HOLIDAY COCKTAILS: POMEGRANATE MARTINI & S'MORES NIGHTCAP

Found two cocktail recipes ready to shine at your upcoming holiday parties! Two flavors that make me think of this time of year: pomegranate and toasted marshmallows. The pomegranate martini is vodka based and bubbly, perfect way to start the cocktail hour. While the s'mores nightcap has brandy and white chocolate liqueur and makes for a sweet ending to the night. Recipes adapted from Burrata Bubbles and Montage Beverly Hills.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆

INGREDIENTS

Pomegranate Martini

  • 1 oz 100% pure pomegranate juice.

  • 1 oz Vodka

  • 1/2 oz Cointreau orange liqueur or triple sec

  • 1/2 oz Fresh squeezed lemon juice

  • 1/2 oz Ginger ale

  • Ice

  • Garnish with fresh mint leaves

S'mores Nightcap

  • 1 oz Brandy

  • 1 oz Godiva white chocolate liqueur or Bailey's s'mores edition

  • 1/2 oz chocolate syrup

  • 1 egg white

  • Ice

  • Garnish with chocolate syrup or nutella rim, 1 crumbled graham cracker, and 2 marshmallows.

RECIPE

Pomegranate Martini

  1. Mix pomegranate juice, orange liqueur, vodka, and lemon juice with ice in a shaker.

  2. Strain and pour into martini glass and add ginger ale. You can add more than 1/2 oz to reduce the potency or add more sweetness.

  3. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.

S'mores Nightcap

  1. In a shaker without ice, combine brandy, white chocolate liqueur, chocolate syrup, and egg white.

  2. Shake until your arms hurt, the goal is the get the egg white fully mixed in and a little foamy.

  3. Then add ice to shaker and shake again.

  4. Dip rim of glass into chocolate syrup, or coat with nutella. Then dip rim in plate of graham cracker crumbs.

  5. Strain mixture and pour into glass.

  6. Add 2 marshmallows to skewer and toast with blow torch or open flame. Rest skewer on top of glass.

CONCLUSION

Overall great cocktails that are sure to get you in a festive mood! The drinks may be a little too strong for some. You can add more ginger ale to the pomegranate martini to dilute it down. Likewise, for the s'mores drink, you can reduce the brandy content or add heavy cream to dilute. The heavy cream may also help with foaming up the drink. The cocktail glasses were purchased from Amazon! The number of aprons I give both of these recipes is....
