I discovered this remarkable Thai-inspired meatball recipe on TikTok, and it completely captivated me. The dish I'm sharing with you today embodies the vibrant flavors of Thai cuisine, blending tangy, sweet, and salty elements that it's renowned for. These succulent meatballs are gently simmered in a luxurious, coconut-infused broth, perfectly paired with a serving of fluffy rice. Not only is this recipe incredibly simple and wholesome, but it also offers a taste experience that feels indulgent despite its budget-friendly ingredients.

  • 8 garlic cloves, peeled

  • 1½ tbsp fresh ginger

  • 2 jalapeño, seeds removed

  • 1lb ground turkey

  • ½ cup panko breading

  • 1 bunch of cilantro leaves, chopped

  • 2 tbsp fish sauce

  • 1 tsp salt


  • 3 tbsp fish sauce

  • 3 cups of chicken broth

  • 1 can full-fat coconut milk

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 lime

  • 1 tbsp MSG or chicken boullon

  • Olive oil


  • Cilantro

  • Fried shallots

  • Chili flakes

  • Lime




  1. Add garlic, ginger and jalapeño to the food processor. Chop until fine. Add half to the ground turkey and save the other half for the broth.

  2. Add salt, panko, cilantro, fish sauce to the ground turkey. Mix until combined

  3. Form evenly sized meatballs with the ground turkey mixture.

  4. Heat a pan with oil and then cook your meatballs on each side until golden brown. Should take about ~6 minutes.

  5. Transfer cooked meatballs to a plate for later.


  1. In a pot heat up oil. Sauté the remaining ginger/jalapeño/garlic mixture for 1 minute.

  2. Add chicken broth, coconut milk, sugar, fish sauce and MSG or chicken bouillon.

  3. Bring broth to a simmer and add the meatballs in. Allow to simmer for additional 8 minutes.

  4. Squeeze the juice of 1 whole lime

  5. Serve the broth and meatballs over white jasmine rice, garnish and enjoy!



The preparation of this Thai meatball recipe proved to be wonderfully straightforward and easy. Not only did this recipe satisfy hunger with its hearty portions, but its flavors were also truly exceptional. It's important to continuously taste and adjust seasoning throughout the cooking process. However, it is important refrain from adjusting the broth until the meatballs have had time to infuse it with their own savory essence. Reflecting on this delightful dish, I contemplate experimenting with the addition of tomatoes and Thai basil leaves for an enhanced flavor profile in future renditions.
